systems vocabulary

*Central processing unit-is responisble for performing all of the arethmitic adn logical instructions that the computer can do.
*Expansion slots-circuit boards that allow you to attach additional devices to your computer system.
*flash memmory-a type pf remobable memmory commonly used in small hand-held devices,such as cell phones,digital cameras and digital music players.
*Graphical user inference-design for the part of an opperating system in which the user typically operates a mouse to point and click on graphic icons representing files,folders.disks,adn programs.
*hard drive-a nonremobable storage device used to hold software and data on a computer system.
*hardware-the physical parts of a computer system including input,output,and other devices.
*input device-any device that accepts data from the user,such as keybored and mouse.
*linux-an operating system based on unix that permits any programmer to improve upon it and is available as freeware.
*macos-the operating system of the macintosh line of computer system.
*mainframe-an computer system used by large organizations that can support many users adn large databases.

*user interface-the visual portion of the operating system software that ditermins the manner in which user interact with the computer.
*utility progran-a program tha assists the user maintaining and improving trh operating system.
*virus- a program desifned as a prank taht replicates itself fromone computer to another.
*windows-the common name of the family of opperating systems with graphical users interface.
